"The man who can drive himself further once the effort gets painful
is the man who will win."~Roger Bannister
Diary:
b: eggs and turkey sausage
s: handful of shaved chicken
l: homemade chicken soup, xs, vitamins
s: none
d: mixed salad with hard boiled eggs + scrambled egg and turkey sausage wrap - ok, so I got a good deal on tortillas, and every meal this week seems to include some kind of wrap. I find them easy to eat and put together. I wanted to use up the last of the sausage and egg before I left for a long weekend. Trying to get rid of some of the left-overs so I can not have to throw food out next week.
g: warmup, jog 1.5 laps, walk 2 laps, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, 8 times..... then warmdown and sauna and breathe..... good.
Notes:
I appreciate the Motivational Quote today. Not that the workout was painful, but I am struggling to get my body moving in the 'jog' part of the work. I am looking at the training schedule, and am thinking that I might not be able to stand moving so fast. I might have to do "week 2" for another week, because I am not sure I am ready to graduate. My sides are starting to feel 'streched', like in high-school wrestling and track, and I can feel that I am fat when I run. Oh well, I will try to take it slow and see how my body reacts. I am not going to push too hard. (I will push hard, but I don't want to injur myself.) I will keep driving.
I will be heading home (my birthplace) this weekend, and will not blog and probably not do a regular workout. I will take my gym bag and mp3 player, so if I get a chance to walk/jog, I will take the opportunity. I just don't see that happening, with the proposed schedule and family time.
This will be the first time that some of my family has seen me since I started the "Chazz Vader Challenge", but it isn't like I have massively changed. Overall, I think my body still is shaped the same and I don't look much different. I don't know what to expect. I was going through my closet this evening looking for a suit jacket to wear for the funeral. I noticed that the jacket I last wore (it has been a while, I guess) was still hung up in the front of the closet. I tried it on, and was glad to see that it was way to big for me. The buttons were about 2-3 inches to big, so I tried on another jacket. That seems to work. I am going to take a lot of blue shirts with me. In fact, every shirt in my bag for this trip will be some color of blue. Why I decided to point that out in this blog is beyond me. A woman manager at a bar once told me that I looked very handome in blue, and wanted me to only show up in a blue shirt.
I am also packing snacks to take with me on the road trip - I have a couple bags of celery sticks, some peanut butter, plain peanuts, xs energy drinks, an apple, and a few oranges, and a can of salmon. (you never know.. I have been carrying this can of salmon in my lunch bag for about 2 months. I am not sure why, as I haven't ever found a time or a place that would call for a large can of salmon, but it is there, doing it's part to make the world safe.)
For those readers who have been loyally keeping track of days and milestones, you are correct to point out that this Saturday is my next check-in date for weight and measurements. I am going to see if my sister will do a 'reunion appearance' as the official judge and measurer. (I have already weighed in today, since I knew I would be out of town, and will keep those results secret until next week, when I have calculated the rest of the measurements.)
Until then, take care, and take care of those you love around you. I have been recently grateful for my friendly contacts and time spent with folks from 6-month to over 60 this week.
more later,
Chazz
