Almost--- just need a little more..

Motivation:

"Do not let what you cannot do interfere with what you can do." ~John Wooden

Diary:

Wed - gym: elliptical 2.25 miles, walk 1 mile
Thur:
b: egg and sausage
s: protien bar
l: homemade chili and mixed salad, xs energy, vitamins
s: shaved turkey and sliced cheese
d: mixed salad with all the 'fixins', like cucumber, tomato, etc, a couple beers (I wasn't planning on the beers, but - circumstances determined that I spend some time listening to a friend in need - someone on my prayer list.)
s: chicken & veggies
g: elliptical 2.18 miles (funny that I actually had a sweatier workout today, but the machine must have been set at a higher level, as I didn't go as far.

Notes:

Got an interesting mail yesterday from one of my cheerleaders. It was an advertisement from "Curves for Women", a fitness center common in the midwest. The ad said "100 pounds", and featured a woman that lost that much weight and claimed her success was due to Curves. She claimed that now many people she used to interact with at stores and in business don't immediately recognize her and it takes a moment for the connection to kick in. It was a good ad, I guess, if you have over 100 pounds of fat to lose.

Another note, my prayer list for people who are in the hospital seems to be growing rapidly. I am unsure if this is due to just getting older, but some of the people on my list are too young to be having these types of problems. Two heart-related issues in my list of prayers. I am sure there are more that I don't know about.
I had a pretty good day yesterday overall. I can tell that when I am working out during the day and taking my vitamins and eating better (meaning on a regular basis, rather than the slide that I was in.) I can feel my abdomen starting to "loosen". When I was pigging out for the last few weeks, my abdomen was starting to feel like it was filling in and becoming a tube shaped thing, unflexible and uncomfortable. With just a couple days of workouts and scheduled eating, I feel my stomach starting to be more mallable, like dough. That is where I want it to be. (Was that too much information? Disgusting, but that is the way it is.)

I am getting things accomplished at work, had a good meeting with a client for a side project that I think will work out well.

Today, let's answer some questions.

Anonymous asks: Who is your new measurement official?
I am self-judging, using tape and pencil/paper. It isn't as accurate as having a real measurer, but since during the last time period I didn't really do much, it was ok. I haven't had a volunteer for a new official, and it isn't really something that I feel comfortable forcing someone to do. It isn't necesarily the most fun activity.

Memphis asks: What does LFL stand for?
LFL is "Lean for Life". It is an eating program (not a diet, but a way of eating) founded by the Lindora clinic in Southern California. Founded in 1971 by Marshall Stamper, MD. There are minor differences in the LFL plan vs what I was doing, but the basics are the same:
1) eat 6 small meals a day, with protien in every meal
2) exercise daily to some extent (or a total of 10,000 steps a day)
3) drink water, take vitamin supplements

The difference is this = I had been basing the program on calories, whereas this proram is based on variety of protiens, fruits, grains, and misc. It dictates what variety I get, but I choose the foods to put into those 'food picks'.

I have been trying to put together my weekly eating schedule, as I find that if I am anal and overplan my week, I stick to the plan 10times better than just flying with the wind. Unfortunately, I have been procrastinating on this task, but this HAS to get done in the next few days. The thing about this is, people who take this seriously have done really well. People who 'dink around' and try it for a few days will not have as good success, and give up. (I guess this is true of most things.) I need to get my planning done so I can be serious about the program.

There are some fun things with the LFL plan, and I am not going to write about them here. We can discuss this later.

Anonymous asks: What's that mean?
I am still targetting to get under 30% body fat. According to the calculations, I need to be under 399.95 lbs to get there. That means I currently have to lose 11.25 pounds. This is no gaurantee that I will be under 30%, because the calculations are built on size and shape. Once I have reached the 30%, then I will reset my target for under 25% body fat, and another set of lbs to lose will be figured.

Apple118 asks: Do you have a clue what you are talking about?
Regarding to dump trucks on the highway that have "Do Not Push" signs, I guess not. Thanks to your stern scolding and reprimand, I now know that this sign refers to dozers at earth moving and construction sites. "If a truck gets stuck, other machines need to know if it has the ability to be pushed out of a hole, or mud, or other roadblock. If the truck isn't able to be pushed out, it will have this label in bright letters. It has nothing to do with speed, so the Chazz analogy is the dumbest thing I ever heard."

That last one really wasn't a question, but thanks for reading!

more later,

Chazz

I like to think that signs on the back of dump trucks are like poetry and other forms of art - their meaning is in the mind of the beholder, enriching lives by stimulating creative, motivational, or just plain fun thought. I liked your interpretation of "DO NOT PUSH!" a lot!You have encouraged me to look for art all around me.

apple118 could maybe win some kind of special award for "person who most completely missed the point".
