Day 7 - New Lights - good workout.

Day 7, Martin Luther King Jr Day, and no work for the last 3 days.

weekends and holidays are challenging for keeping on track with the calorie plan. I am out and about and it is easy to falter. I will need to keep this in mind for the future.

I have not been perfect with the diet or excercise, although I have been walking and doing all sorts of activities, so while I haven't been to the gym, all is well.

Today I installed new lights in my stairway, so there was lots of work. Putting up scaffolding, up and down, lifting, grabbing, uninstalling old fixtures, installing new fixtures, taking down scaffolding lifting and walking. It was a good workout, and now my lights work again. Super.

No menu listing today, but and from now on I will just put "Monday, Week1 menu" for this day. 2500 calories, seperated into 6 meals. That is fine.

Questions and Answers today:

1) Why no lettuce on the menu lists?
- I am lazy, and right now making a lettuce salad requires a little more energy than I can muster. I am getting veggies at every meal, and lettuce IS in the weekly plan. I do have this on my shopping list and a McDonalds or Wendys side salad is also on my cheat list for an easy 250-300 calorie snack. I might explain this list better in the future. I haven't banned lettuce, it just isn't in the weekly mix.

2) Why egg-beaters and no eggs?
- Again, let's go back to me being somewhat lazy. Egg Beaters are sooo easy to make and there is little trash to deal with (no eggshells, etc). I find that if I don't use eggs right away, they become rubbery, and I don't like this texture. Egg Beaters are always the same every time, and I like this.

This will be a difficult week to stay on track. This weekend I have a mens retreat, (Thursday eve to Sunday night) and I might not be in total control of what and when I can eat. I will be busy doing work all weekend, so I will get plenty of exercise.

More tommorow. Maybe I will explain good choices when I am in a rough spot. (in fast food line, at movie or baseball game, etc)

Enjoy!
