sweaty shirt - what is it good for?

Motivation of the day:

the one who recognizes the challenge and does something about it. -Vince Lombardi
Today's Diary:

Snack - Tuna, mayo and rye-krisps
lunch - lean cuisine, xs energy
snack - cheese, grapes, deli meat
dinner - pork, brocolli, orange or apple
Ran 1.55 miles on ellipticle, 300+ calories burned.
shirt was very sweaty and smelly at the end of the workout
It occurred to me that there are still some things to discuss regarding Motivations and Goals.
Motivations:
It is important to have ongoing Motivational notes handy to keep you eye on the goal.
For example:
  • My dental hygentists face lights up every time she see me thinner than the time before!
  • Knowing how good I feel when I treat my body right.
  • The people that I haven't met don't know the person that I used to be
  • Finding bones, veins and muscles I never knew I had!
  • Sleeping better and waking up more refreshed.
  • The attention I get from women!
  • Not sweating all of the time like I used to.

Times I am glad I am thinner

  • Family Gatherings
  • UEC Events
  • For wearing my Hong Kong Suits
  • When at Reunions for Globals, College, High School, etc
  • Music - Singing with EMC or Church Music Groups
  • Beating my brother-in law in Raquetball
  • Going to Baseball Games
  • Taking Roadtrips
  • When playing with nieces and nephews
  • When playing cards with my Parents and Grandparents
  • Shopping for clothes

It is good to keep this list handy to remind yourself why you are putting your body and mind through hell. If you start to see improvement or transformation, you can reflect on the motivations and give yourself positive statements like "I am so glad that I can now fit into the seats at the baseball stadium". or "I have so much more breath that I can sing in choir longer without becoming fatigued." or "I love that I can play with my nephew when he wants to go play golf."

So we discussed why Motivations are important. Now lets look closer at the Goals.

Goals

It is IMPERATIVE that you MUST reward yourself after every Goal. This sets a pattern that you should use throughout your life. Do the following for each goal:
  • Plan for the goals you wish to achieve
  • Prepare the steps to get to the goal
  • Pray about your goal and that you will be strengthened and sheltered along the way
  • Pursue your goal
  • Practice positive thinking every day
  • take Pleasure by rewarding yourself at the end of your goal!
  • rePeat
Calendar
I like to consider events that are upcoming when planning my Goals and Rewards. For example:
  • Tuesday, April 11, MLB home opener
  • Sunday, April 16, Easter
  • Monday, May 29, Memorial Day
  • Tuesday, July 4, Independance Day

  • Aug 24 - Sept 4, State Fair
  • Monday, September 4, Labor Day
  • Thursday, November 23, Thanksgiving
  • Monday, December 25, Christmas
A Goal should be added for each of these dates, as each of them will probably include a (or many) reward. I will need to work on this list.
