If you follow your bliss, the life that you ought to be living is the one you are living.

Today was a challenge. I missed breakfast, but grabbed a greasy microwave sandwich at SuperAmerica. Bad choice, but I am ok with it.
I missed my morning snack too. I was supposed to have tuna, crackers and mayo. (I did steal a handful of single-serve mayo packets at SA to prepare)
For lunch, my consultant team leader took me out for lunch at Olive Garden. I had a plate of salad, a bowl of minestrone soup and a couple of breadsticks. I felt pretty full after lunch.
My leader is a lisenced personal trainer and has worked at athletic clubs, so some of our conversation was interesting. He indicated a couple things that he thought would help:
1) He indicated that an easy way to figure the Ideal weight for Men: "Calculate 106lbs for first 5 feet height + 6lbs for each additional inch height . Add/subtract 10% for large/small frame. "
I am 6' 2" - which is 190 + 10% for my large frame = 210lbs. That seems impossible - At 210lbs, would I blow away in the wind??
2) "Take the calculated Ideal Weight. multiply this number by 90%. This is the number of grams of protein you should eat per day."
I am doing this. 2500 calories per day, 45% of them are protein, which is approx 280 grams of protein a day. Protein helps keep your energy and muscle building blocks in your system. Without it you can be lethargic and deprived.
Those are interesting calculations, and I take his word that these figures work for people. We will see.
I missed my workout today, which is the big bad thing. I can't let a day go by without some kind of workout, so I am planning on figuring out a way to use the walking track as I am going home tonight, maybe in Bloomington or Burnsville.
Good Choices when out of the house
The best way to make choices is to have the right knowledge. I have taken some time to find good food choices when out and about. I keep this list with me on my PDA and also printed out and put in my pocket. For example:
Food - Calories
Applebees
Onion Soup - 150
Marshall Wings (grilled chicken wings, naked) - 426
Miller Lite, 12oz - 96
Wendys
Chili (small) - 220
Baked Potato - 270
Subway
6" Club - 320
6" Turkey - 280
6" Veggie - 230
Arbys
Regular Roast Beef - 320
McDonalds
Hamburger - 260
Scrambled Egg & Sausage - 360 (Taken out of Big Breakfast - no muffin)
Ceaser Salad - 220
Otherwise:
Homemade Peanut Butter Sand - 310
protein bar - 240

What's up Chazz? I am enjoying your blog. As someone who is about your height or perhaps a little shorter, I can assuage your fear of blowing away in the wind at 210 lbs. I have dropped as low as 195 in recent years and only ice has been able to topple me. Of course, I don't get out much...
