Notes:

I don't have anything topical to say, so here are some random things:

- I have been scheduled to do two devotions this week, tomorow morning for men's group, and thursday night for outreach group. I have been considering what I am going to talk about, and I think I have an idea for the thursday evening group. I am reading recently about Ash Wednesday, tommorow, and the concept of our lives being temporary, in the grand scheme of things. I think that one of the ideas of Ash Wednesday is to remind us that we are on earth for a limited time and we should try to make the most of the lives that we have been given. I can certainly embrace that thought with my current mindset.
The other item that has come up many times, including in the sunday sermon, was the fact that we are created in God's image.

- I was thinking about the last time I tried to lose weight - years ago - and how long it took before I began to really notice a difference. I think the number was 6 months. It took about 6 months of diet and exercise before I really started to feel like my body was changing and I was starting to lose weight.

- I have found some good websites of information. One of the recent ones, was inspired by going through my cookbooks. Long ago, my mother gave me a old Betty Crocker cookbook, "Dinner for Two" with a lot of good recipies, and some strange ones. It has instructions for making roast beef and turkey, which are going to be my next trials for creating lunch meals. A note in the book from mother indicated "Save the broth" - Add onion, carrots and celery. Cook about 15min. then add egg noodles and some pieces of chicken.

sweet.

Anyway, I was looking at the Betty Crocker book, and wondered if I could find the recipies in this book online. Even better, I found the entire site really nice to use. It has recipies that you can turn into a shopping list and print out to take with you. When I went to http://www.bettycrocker.com/, on the front page I found "Cooking for Two" Meal Ideas. They have healthy choices on the recipies too, and I even found a Pot Roast http://www.bettycrocker.com/recipes/Recipe.aspx?recipeId=35226
